AK Benedict

A K Benedict read English at Cambridge and Creative Writing at the University of Sussex. She writes in a room filled with mannequins, clowns and teapots. Her debut novel, The Beauty of Murder (Orion), was shortlisted for an eDunnit award and is in development for an 8-part TV series.

BK Duncan

Ruth Wade (AKA BK Duncan) has been a full-time time writer for 20 years. Ten of those engaged in teaching the skills and craft of creative writing in Cambridge and Oxford colleges and academies.

Steve Bicknell

Steve Bicknell formed Maverick Children’s Books in 2009. Maverick specialise in working closely with their authors to develop ideas and texts into unique picture books.

Clare Quinlivan

Clare Quinlivan works as Editorial and Rights Manager at No Exit Press. She is responsible for acquiring new novels for No Exit's crime list (both commercial and literary) as well as selling international rights to foreign editors.

Based in Northamptonshire, England, Morgen Bailey (“Morgen with an E”) is a freelance writer, editor, tutor, blogger, speaker, and competitions judge.

Lou Treleaven

Lou Treleaven was plucked from the slush pile by Maverick Arts Publishing in 2015 and is now looking forward to her fourth picture book coming out later this year. She also writes junior fiction and early reader titles.
